Your GPS (pun intended) for navigating the intersections in daily life, including God, politics and science. This is intended as a reference for those interested in, or have questions about, these important intersections of life. Many people compartmentalize their life, separating family, work, church, sports, politics, etc. For example, many politicians talk about separation of church and state, or their political life from their spiritual beliefs. Others, mainly scientists, say that science has nothing to do with religion. These statements are illogical because if God is who the Bible says He is, then He is the Master of everything, including politics and science. The Bible clearly states that no leader prevails without God’s allowance and that He is the Master Scientist. In fact, if God is who the Bible says He is, then He created the laws of the universe and everything in it. Saying to the vast majority (80%) of Americans who believe in the God of the Bible that they keep their beliefs out of politics and science is both insulting and absurd. The opposite is true: We, the people, should be holding our politicians and scientists, who represent us, accountable to the Judaeo-Christian values in the Bible that form the basis of American law and that most people ascribe to.
Purpose
We are scientists, engineers, technologists and politically-aware Americans who want to provide some answers to those trying to understand why us Christians believe what we do. Many, from some religions, politics, science and the media, would have you believe that Christians are simple-minded, right-wing, fringe groups. Our positions on certain matters could superficially appear contradictory, conflicting and/or behind the times. Yet, some of us Christians follow a systematic theology and worldview that is highly consistent and yet to be disproved, as hard as the most brilliant minds try. Also know that some of the most brilliant minds also believe what we do. So, to help answer some of the questions from non-Christians and Christians alike, this website is a compilation of thoughts and links to material that is already available on the Web and additional material.
That Pesky Bible
We would assert that anyone who earnestly seeks the truth of the Bible, will find it. In many cases, ardent atheists – lawyers, scientists and journalists – have sought to disprove the Bible and the God of the Bible, and yet, found God and His truth as a result, for example, C. S. Lewis, Lee Strobel and others. We would ask that you confront what must be the most important question you can ask while you live on Earth: Who is this God that the vast majority of people believe in? And then there is a follow up question: Who is this Jesus Christ? Challenge God that if He is real, to reveal Himself to you. The choice is stark: If the Bible is true, then everyone is going to live forever – a minority in Heaven and a majority in Hell (an eternal punishment). Why not settle the matter forever in your mind and really explore what evidence there is in the Bible for God. What have you got to lose? Nothing, but a little time invested and you can answer for yourself whether there is a God of the Bible or not. Think of what you could potentially gain – a guarantee of eternal life in paradise and not Hell – there is only upside in this, or failing that you find God, a peace of mind and affirmation that He does not exist.
